New Minister of Infrastructure – Government of Manitoba
WESTAC is pleased to announce that earlier this month a new Minister of Infrastructure was appointed by Premier Brian Pallister’s Progressive Conservative government in Manitoba. The Premier appointed a small, 12-person Executive Council and spoke of his government’s commitment to governing for all Manitobans based on the values of Manitobans. This government is the first Progressive Conservative government elected in Manitoba since 1995. The NDP party formed the government from 1999 through 2016.
Hon. Blaine Pedersen (MLA for Midland) was appointed to the Infrastructure Portfolio.
WESTAC congratulates Minister Pedersen and looks forward to working with him and the Government of Manitoba in the future.

Hon. Blaine Pedersen biography
Blaine Pedersen was elected as the MLA for Midland in 2007 and re-elected in 2011 and 2016. With more than 30 years farming experience in cattle and grain operations, Pedersen is an active member of his community, serving in many livestock organizations and groups such as Kinsmen, Toastmasters, 4-H program and a local housing corporation. He and his wife Dianne have three children and five grandchildren.
