Vancouver, BC – April 24, 2017 – The Western Transportation Advisory Council (WESTAC) is pleased to welcome International Longshore Warehouse Union (ILWU) Local 502 as the newest member of Western Canada’s premier forum for transportation leaders. The Board of Directors approved the application earlier this month.

The Official Representative will be Tom Doran, President and the Alternate will be Aaron Hoolsema, Vice President.

The forums are an opportunity for workers to share their on-the-ground perspective on moving goods in the western transportation system. WESTAC is a unique organization in Canada where employers, unions and governments interact positively and collaboratively,” says Tom Doran, President ILWU Local 502.

The International Longshore and Warehouse Union Canada has been successfully representing working people in British Columbia since 1948. ILWU Canada is the exclusive bargaining agent for over 6,000 men and women throughout the province.
